Benefits of Ionix Static Eliminators for wood finishers

Static is created by the friction of any sanding action on a wood surface. Wood is an electrical insulator. The sanding action builds up a static charge on the wood dust and wood surface. They are attracted to each other. When you blow compressed air, which is an electrical insulator, across wood surfaces that are also electrical insulators, you create static on the surface.

Using compressed air to blow off wood surfaces doesn't eliminate any static. It simply suspends the dust in the air and as gravity pulls it down it will be attracted to any static on the wood surface. This causes blemishes in the finish. You MUST use a static eliminator in your blow off line to eliminate this static.

Ionix can also be installed in blow off air lines and in air lines in automated equipment as long as you respect the pressure limitations of the unit.

Ionix is safe to use in hazardous environments.

Simple to unstall

You do not have to use a special hose or air gun to use Ionix. Ionix can be installed anywhere in the blow off air line. Ionix wood finishing units for any standard 3/8" ID hose.

If you have only one air line shared for both blowoff and painting, when you're ready to blow off the surface, attach the Ionix Static Eliminator to the end of the air hose. Blow off and then remove the Ionix Static Eliminator from the air hose and re-attach the paint gun to the air hose when your ready to paint.

If you have a dedicated air line for blowoff, you can install the Ionix Static Eliminator at the line drop after the regulator. Ionix does not need to be at the end of the air line to be effective. The length of the air hose Ionix is installed on does not diminish its ability to dissipate static on the surface.
