Blowing it off with compressed air doesn't solve this - air is an electrical insulator, so the friction of blowing it across the surface actually creates static, and the dust just settles back down and clings to that charge. the result shows up as blemishes in the finish. Ionix removes the static in your blow-off line so prep actually stays clean.
